Can a custodial parent move far away with the child, even overseas? Sometimes. The court must consider factors such as the effect that the relocation will have on the child’s relationship with the non-custodial parent. However, the standard is the best interest of the child, not the best interest of either parent. Relocation cases are extremely fact intensive.
